Drop PNG, JPG or JPEG files into the upload area or click to select them.

Choose settings

Select WebP or AVIF, choose a quality preset and add resizing if needed.

Conversion starts automatically

Files are queued, and each file status updates live in the table.

Download results

Download images individually or use Download all for the ZIP archive.

FAQ - frequently asked questions

No. Very small or heavily optimized JPEG images can produce a similar or larger WebP file. CloudVertor shows the real input and output sizes and marks outputs that do not save space.

No. A standard JPEG source has no alpha channel, so conversion preserves an opaque image. The transparency setting is relevant for sources such as PNG that actually contain transparent pixels.

Yes. Add files in one or more rounds, follow the status of every image and use Download all after the active conversions finish. Invalid files are listed separately and do not prevent successful images from being downloaded.

No. CloudVertor uses temporary server storage for processing and downloads. Files expire automatically, and successfully processed originals can be removed earlier according to the active cleanup policy.

Convert JPG and JPEG photographs to WebP with an output profile selected for photographic content. The converter accepts .jpg, .jpeg and .jpe as the same source family and provides one canonical workflow instead of duplicate JPEG pages.

Why this conversion is useful

WebP commonly reduces the transfer size of photographs compared with older JPEG files while remaining broadly supported by modern browsers. Savings depend on the original compression, dimensions, noise and detail, so CloudVertor reports the actual result instead of promising a fixed reduction.

Recommended uses

This workflow is suitable for product photos, article images, galleries and other web photographs. For archival masters or files intended for repeated editing, keep the original JPEG separately and use the WebP output as a delivery copy.

Choosing the optimization level

Recommended is the practical default for most websites. Images as small as possible favors transfer size, while maximum quality keeps more detail and usually produces a larger file. Optional resizing can reduce more data than compression alone when the source dimensions exceed the display size.

Transparency and metadata

JPEG does not contain transparency. Removing metadata can discard EXIF, XMP and ICC information from the delivered copy; keep metadata only when orientation, profile or descriptive information is required by your workflow.

Compatibility and limitations

A JPEG that is already aggressively compressed may not become much smaller, and converting it cannot restore detail previously lost. Compare the output visually before replacing important assets, especially images with fine textures or color-critical content.

Bulk processing and privacy

Files are validated on the server, queued and processed asynchronously, so a conversion does not keep the upload request open. You can add images in several rounds and download successful results individually or together. Original and converted files are temporary and are removed according to the configured retention policy.
